Capturing The Moment
We have met some wonderful people on our many trips to the Ashland Depot. People from around the country have stopped here to catch a glimpse of the passing trains and mark their moment on camera.
Most of the folk we’ve met are from New England. But because the Henry Clay Inn sits right behind the train depot/visitor center it’s also an attraction for folks from the midwest too. So far we’ve met some folk from Indiana and Kansas. I’m sure there have been visitors from farther west. But we haven’t met anyone from California or Utah at our little train stop….yet.
The rich history of our area seems to be the biggest attraction for visitors. The ease of access from i95 also helps, as the Visitor’s Center is a nice place for a quick meal for travelers. Everyone is typically friendly and willing to talk about the sights and adventures they’ve had with and around trains.
