It’s about perspective

images41.jpgWe spent the last of our present money on going to dinner for our family New Years celebration. We just LOVE the Texas Roadhouse! While there we watched the coverage from the sports bar of the College bowl games. And being New Years Eve there were commercials about Drinking and Driving. The waitresses and waiters made comments about it when they took our order, delivered food and brought the check. Be safe, don’t drink and drive.

At some point in this public message media blitz, the Prince says to Daddy “Momma does it all the time, the drinking and driving.” Daddy asked what he meant since Momma doesn’t drink and the Prince replies “She’s always got a sunkist in the car and drinks when she’s driving.”

Well, that’s true. Shameless plug for Diet Sunskit!

NFL Week 16 – Spring & The Prince’s Results

Happy Yule, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Merry Kwanzaa

There were a few heartbreaker losses this past week. Namely Indianapolis and Minnesota. The Vikings fought hard to win their Monday night game, and it looked like they might have it wrapped up in OT. But it wasn’t to be. The decision to sit the starters in Indianapolis will be talked about for years and just may bring about some rule changes in the league as well. I can understanding sitting the starters before the playoffs, but I think the Coach is dead wrong that 16-0 is not a historic goal. Stupid, just plain stupid. Then you can talk about the fans, the money they spent on tickets to see a game and see their team win and continue their undefeated streak. Big picture is one thing, but so is having a mental focus and belief that “we’re the greatest team of all time and will not lose”. I think sitting those starters and losing the undefeated record will have a bigger mental affect on the team in their last game than those coaches are giving credit to.

I don’t want to talk about my Titans or Redskins. sniff sniff. But kudos to the Panthers for taking the Giants down.  Good Job!

There are two good bets this week if you think like the computer. One is that Indy will cover the spread. Considering last week, they made it clear that they don’t plan to win any more regular season games, I’ll be surprised if this bet is still good after the game.

The other good bet is that Seattle will beat Tennessee thus, covering the spread. I like this bet.

As a result of the decision by Indy to lose the final two games of their regular season, it’s interesting that they could face the Jets again in the playoffs. The computer says they will. Maybe the Jets beating their starters would make the Indy fans fill a little less gypped. Here’s how the playoffs look to me:

Wild Cards AFC Baltimore New England 17 24 New England
NY Jets Cincinnati 19 18 NY Jets
NFC Green Bay Arizona 26 26 Green Bay
Philadelphia Dallas 21 22 Dallas
Division AFC NY Jets Indianapolis 18 22 Indianapolis
New England San Diego 23 25 San Diego
NFC Green Bay New Orleans 25 27 New Orleans
Dallas Minnesota 18 24 Minnesota
Conference AFC San Diego Indianapolis 20 22 Indianapolis
NFC Minnesota New Orleans 23 27 New Orleans
Superbowl Indianapolis New Orleans 24 25 New Orleans
New Orleans Indianapolis 22 22 Indianapolis

Think coach Belichick saw what coach Ryan did and said, “And you thought going for it on 4th down was bad…”
